In August, the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange company will present Hallelujah/USA in College Park, Maryland, the culmination of a four-year project of dance productions staged all over the country in partnership with local communities. Information: 301-270-6700.
This year, two of the four annual Koret Foundation’s Jewish Book Awards went to women. Nathalie Babel, daughter of the Russian writer, won the fiction prize as editor of The Complete Works of Isaac Babel (W.W. Norton). In biography, Dorothy Gallagher won for her quirky memoir How I Came Into My Inheritance and Other True Stories (Random House).
