Zibby Owens: On Being Jewish Now
Publisher and podcaster Zibby Owens, 48, told Lilith how she’d been called a “Zionist racist” on the crowdsourced book review site GoodReads.
“What was so abstract became personal,” Owens said. “If you have a platform you need to use it.” So she invited the founding team of Authors Against Antisemitism to share their thoughts about Jewish identity—joys as well as trauma.
Their initial 25 submissions grew into the 75 personal essays, many of them from women with marquee names, in her new anthology On Being Jewish Now.
