Sugar & Spice – and Beyond

For many of us, the books we read as children had a powerful impact on our sense of what was possible to us— as females, and as Jews. To find out what some of those germinal books were, LILITH’s editors asked a cross-section of our readers—authors, children’s book editors, students, educators, performers—to tell us about a favorite book they’d read as a youngster, or read to a child.
