Just in Time for the Holidays

Jewish Women Watching has struck again. This time, the underground group that monitors sexism in the Jewish establishment is demanding that Jewish life be affordable to all. In May, a mailing went out to thousands of Jewish community leaders with the quote: “I grew up thinking Jews should work in social change, but only investment bankers can afford a Jewish life.” This latest JWW campaign is in response to a recent study by the American Jewish Committee, which documents the prohibitive costs of such basics as synagogue memberships, Jewish day schools and summer camps.
