Jews of Many Colors

The Idea for Kol Echad, a new ]ewish multiracial children’s choir, came from Vivian Shapiro, a longtime activist in social justice causes such as AIDS and gay rights. The visual impact of the choir, Shapiro says, will underline the diversity of the Jewish community. Kol Echad is being funded by the Jewish Multiracial Network, a nationwide coalition of multiracial Jewish families and Jews of color. Kol Echad will be based In New York.
