Peace between Jews and Arabs is a main theme in the poems of Ada Aharoni, an Egyptian-born Israeli poet who is involved in The Bridge, a group of Jewish and Arab women promoting peace and mutual understanding. Aharoni has been called “Israel’s poet of peace.” This book contains war and peace poems, love poems, women poems and others, all in English. Her poems are strong and speak in clear, precise terms. Her language is lovely and evocative, often drawing on Middle-Eastern images, exuding a great love for Israel.
