The incidence of divorce in Israel has reached 1.3 per 1,000 citizens and is on the rise, particularly among older couples with children, according to Nitza Ben-Dor, a lecturer at the University of Haifa. Ben-Dor also reported a threefold increase in the number ‘of Israeli single-parent families over the past ten years—up to 12,000 today—89% headed by women.
